Booking policies

How quotes, changes, delivery and pickup work when you book a dumpster through Dumpster Dingo. Your written quote is the agreement for your rental; this page explains what it usually covers.

Quotes and payment

  • Getting a price is free. A quote request does not commit you to book. We usually reply within 1-2 business hours.
  • Prices shown on our guides are typical ranges and estimates, not offers.
  • Your quote states the price for your job, the rental period, the weight allowance and any charges that could apply, such as overweight, extra days, item fees, permits or trip fees. Once you accept it, the quote is the agreement for your rental.
  • A quote is held for 14 days for the ZIP code, size and dates it names. Once you book, your price is locked. The only additions are the usage charges your quote lists.
  • Nothing is charged when you book. Your rental price is charged the day before delivery. Nothing is due to get a price.
  • Usage charges (weight over the allowance, extra days, item fees) are billed after pickup, once the disposal site's weight ticket is in, and we send you the breakdown.
  • One invoice per job, with the job address on it.
  • We never ask for card numbers by email or through the forms on this website.

Fixed-price dumpsters

Some of our dumpsters are offered at one fixed price per size, shown with the offer. Each fixed price includes delivery, pickup, a 30-day rental and disposal up to that size's weight allowance (10-yard 3 tons, 15-yard 3 tons, 20-yard 3 tons, 30-yard 4 tons, 40-yard 5 tons).

  • Weight over the allowance is billed per ton, based on the disposal site's scale, at the rate shown with the offer.
  • Days past 30 are billed per day at the rate shown with the offer.
  • Items landfills charge extra for, like mattresses or tires, where accepted, and a city permit if the dumpster has to sit on the street.
  • Heavy debris (concrete, dirt, brick, rock) is not part of the fixed-price offer and is priced on its own.
  • Delivery is usually 1 to 3 business days after you order, or on the date you pick. We confirm the delivery window by text or email.

Changes, cancellations and refunds

  • Free until the truck leaves. Change the size or length, or cancel for a full refund, any time before the truck leaves for your delivery, even on the delivery day.
  • Once the truck is on its way. Cancelling after the truck has left for your delivery costs $50. The rest of what you paid is refunded.
  • New date. Moving your delivery to another date is free, however late you tell us.
  • Trip fee. If the truck can't place or collect the dumpster, for example because the spot is blocked, the box is loaded above the top edge, or the load holds items that make it unsafe to haul, a $75 trip fee applies.
  • Need it longer? Extra days are billed daily at the rate in your quote.
  • Filled it early? Tell us and we schedule an early pickup, or a swap for an empty box. The rental price covers the whole rental period and weight allowance, so unused days or weight are not refunded.
  • If your written quote sets a different amount for any of these, the quote applies.

If a delivery or pickup is late

  • Delivery can happen at any time on your delivery day. We confirm the delivery window by text or email.
  • If we miss the delivery day we confirmed, the rental price you paid is refunded in full. We still deliver at the earliest slot if you want the dumpster, or you can cancel.
  • If a pickup runs late, you are not charged extra days for the delay.

Weight, items and overfilling

  • Weight. The disposal site weighs the load. Weight over your allowance is charged per ton at the rate in your quote, worked out from the scale ticket.
  • Items with a fee. Some items, like mattresses or tires, cost extra where they are accepted. Tell us about them when you ask for a price and the fee is in your quote.
  • Prohibited items. Paint, chemicals, batteries, fridges and AC units, and similar items can't go in. If we find them at pickup, we can leave them behind or pass on the disposal site's handling charge, and we tell you before any charge. See what can't go in a dumpster.
  • Overfilling. Load no higher than the top edge. If the box can't be hauled safely, the driver may ask you to take some out, and a trip fee applies if the truck has to come back.

Permits

On your own driveway or property you usually don't need one. For a street, sidewalk or public alley, most cities require a permit. We tell you what applies at your address, and we can get the permit for you, with the city's fee added to your invoice. You can also get it yourself.

Delivery and placement

  • We place the dumpster where you direct. You need a flat spot about the length of the box (12 to 22 feet) and 8 to 11 feet wide, room for the truck to back in, and clear space overhead. Getting ready for delivery.
  • You don't need to be home if the spot is clear and marked.
  • Make sure you have the right to place the dumpster there, and get any HOA approval needed for shared placement. For a street spot, we can get the city permit for you (see Permits).
  • Keep the spot clear for pickup, and load no higher than the top edge. If the truck can't place or pick up the box, for example because the driveway is blocked or the box is overfilled, the $75 trip fee applies.
  • Keep prohibited items out. See what can't go in a dumpster.

Damage to driveways and surfaces

A loaded roll-off is heavy. Placing one on a driveway, lawn or other surface carries some risk of marks or damage. Boards under the wheels help, and they are included at no charge: ask for them when you book. Surface damage at a location you chose is generally your responsibility unless we or our hauler were negligent. Avoid fresh asphalt, pavers and soft ground where you can.

If a size or date isn't available

  • If the size you asked for isn't available on your date, we tell you and offer the next size up at no extra cost (heavy debris stays in a 10-yard).
  • If the size you booked isn't available on your delivery day, we send the next size up at no extra cost. Heavy debris is the exception: it has to go in a 10-yard, so we find you one or you can cancel for a full refund.
  • If we can't deliver at your address or on your date, we tell you instead of booking something that doesn't fit. A quote request never commits you, so there is nothing to pay.
  • If something goes wrong after you book, contact us with your reference or delivery address and we put it right.
